Our own journey

We were told it could not be done. Test after test, one opinion against another, disappointment after disappointment. So we stopped waiting and took hold of our own future. We read. We asked better questions. We tried things. The answers were there, and our son was born.

Not long after, we faced it again, with nothing in front of us. Again we refused to accept it quietly. We read, we sought opinions, we trusted ourselves. Again, there was something to be done, and we came through it.

We are not exceptional. We were stubborn, and we had the time to read. Most people have neither, and nowhere reliable to begin.

Ten years in the clinic

For ten years we ran longevity and integrative medicine clinics. Every day we sat with people who wanted to look after themselves and their families, and every day we saw the same gap.

On one side, what doctors and researchers know. On the other, what people are told: too much information, too little of it clear, and nobody to help put it together. The result is confusion, guessing, and a loss of trust.

A name that means ease

εὐμάρεια

We named our company after the Ancient Greek eumareia. It means ease: the ease of doing a thing, the skill of a good hand, and the comfort of being well. Its roots are εὖ, well, and μάρη, hand.

Ease that someone skilled has made possible. The hard part does not go away by wishing. Someone has to do it first, so that what reaches you is simple to act on. That is the job we have given ourselves.

Two sentences we refuse

"You will have to live with it."
"It is just part of getting older."

We have heard both, and so have many of the people we have met. Those are not diagnoses. They are the point at which someone stopped looking. We would rather keep looking, and explain what we find in words that don't need translating.

What we are building

Evmara Life is the place we wished we had. Everyday products for the kitchen, the home and the bathroom shelf, home test kits and supplements, each one held to the Evmara Threshold. The research behind them, in plain words. Practitioners we have vetted ourselves. And a community of people who think alike about their health and their family's: body, mind and spirit together, not one symptom at a time.
